What is the Advanced Device Status Update configuration?

When the Advanced Device Status Update configuration is enabled, the device data on the WizyEMM console updates every 15 minutes. This applies to the Last Contact, Geolocation, and Network information fields.

This feature requires the deactivation of the battery optimization for the Companion application.

Notes:

  • Activating this option adds an additional step during enrollment, which is the deactivation of the battery optimization for the Companion application.
  • This feature should be activated before enrollment. If this feature is activated after device enrollment, you can still manually deactivate the battery optimization for the Companion application (see below).

How to manually deactivate the battery optimization for the Companion app?

(if feature was activated after device enrollment)

Depending on the phone model, go to the smartphone's settings and follow these steps:

  1. Tap on "Applications" or "Apps"
  2. Tap on the three-dot menu (top right corner)
  3. Tap on "Special Access"
  4. Tap on "Optimize Battery usage"

OR

  1. Tap on "Device maintenance"
  2. Tap on "Battery"
  3. Tap on "Battery Usage"
  4. Tap on the three-dot menu (top right corner)
  5. Tap on "Optimize Battery usage"

On the "Optimize Battery" screen, if the Companion app is not listed as “Apps Not Optimized”, tap on "Apps not optimized" and then tap on "All apps". Search for "Companion" and disable that option.
