The Device Owner mode enrollment by QR Code works on any Android 7+ GMS devices.
Step 1: Find the QR Code
You have the choice of two QR Codes to use to enroll your device:
- A profile-specific QR code, which is found in the Enrollment tab of your profile (fig. 1). This QR has a validity of 90 days. To create a new one, simply save the profile again.
- A global QR code, which is linked to device registration. This QR code is unlimited in time. This code is found under Enrollment > Global QR Code (fig. 2). Check out this article for how to register devices.

Step 2: Enroll the device
The process is straightforward and does not require any technical expertise.
1. Make sure that the device is in factory reset mode
Tap 6 times on the screen of the factory reset device to start the enrollment process with QR Code.
If you cannot see this home screen on your factory reset Android Enterprise device, please refer to the EMM Token enrollment method.
2. Proceed with the QR code setup
Follow the steps on screen
Select your Wifi and enter the Password to connect
Flash the QR code with your camera.
Notes:
- From Android 9 and above, you can embed a wifi in the QR code you are using for enrolling devices, from the QR code page of your WizyEMM console. This streamlines the process for enrolling devices: simply scan the QR code when prompted during enrollment, and the device will connect to the pre-defined network.
- For Android devices below Android 9, you must first connect to a wifi network before scanning the QR code. Only then will the device download the QR code reader, which will enable to read your QR code. This QR code reader is pre-installed on all Android 9+ devices.
3. Finalize the enrollment
Follow the steps on screen
Click on Install
Click on Start
Click on Done
The device is ready to be used with the applications and policies defined in the associated WizyEMM Profile.
Note:
- If during the QR code enrollment setup, the device unexpectedly wipes itself, it is because of one of the following two reasons:
- You scanned the Global QR code, without registering your device first.
- You have exceeded the number of licenses affected to your account
