WizyEMM is an EMM software based on Android Enterprise and the Android Management API. It enables companies to manage their fleet of Android devices through the Android Enterprise capabilities.
When a device is enrolled, ie. managed by WizyEMM, the Companion application is automatically installed on the device, and configured. The configuration is done via a full, dedicated managed configuration.
What policies and device actions does the Companion app handle?
The companion app enables the WizyEMM administrator to perform specific device management features, which are described below.
-> Notification: a notification message can be sent to the device.
-> File Management: push files to the device, retrieve files from the device, delete files from the device.
-> Location: the app reports the geolocation of the device to the WizyEMM console.
-> Certificate Management: a X509 certificate file can be silently installed on the device.
-> Launch App: an app can be started silently. From Android Q, the user is notified about this through a notification message, and must acknowledge it.
-> Remote Control: the WizyEMM administrator can take remote control of the device, either silently (up to Android P), or request it through a notification message (from Android Q). The user can escape the session at any time.
-> Block Calls: outgoing calls to specific numbers can be blocked, since the phone data plan is managed by the company.
-> App Installation: the WizyEMM administrator can request the user to install a specific sideloaded application (outside of the Google Play store). This request is made through a notification message.
What is the difference between the Android Device Policy and the Companion application?
The two applications are complementary and required, and are both installed during device enrollment.
The Android Device Policy sets all of the other policies on your devices, excluding the ones which are managed by our companion application.
